NSU Means Business – Lunch & Learn series starts Sept. 14

NATCHITOCHES – Northwestern State University is bringing timely, business-focused conversations to communities across the region through NSU Means Business: Beyond the Brick Way, a fall community lunch-and-learn series.

“It is important for the NSU College of Business and Technology to engage with businesses in Natchitoches and beyond, providing this type of outreach to help them succeed, which benefits the entire region,” said Dr. Scott Wysong, dean of the College.

The complimentary sessions are designed for business owners, professionals, community leaders and anyone interested in today’s workplace and business environment.

Monday, Sept. 14 – NSU Leesville/Fort Polk Campus:  Transitioning from a Military to a Business Career with Betty Armstrong, Lt. Col (Ret., USAF), Armed Forces Community Business and Entrepreneur Network

Monday, Oct. 5 – Natchitoches Campus: Understanding Generational Differences in the Workplace, Dr. Vianka Miranda and Dr. Beth Prejean, associate professors at NSU

Monday, Oct. 12 – NSU Cenla Campus: How Small Businesses Can Use AI, Monty V. Chicola, president of Real Vision Software, Inc.

Monday, Nov. 12 – NSU Marksville:  You Can Make Sponsorships Wors as a Small Business, Heidy McWhorter Mongeon, Ragus Chair and assistant professor at NSU

Monday, Nov. 16 – Bossier Central Library:  Cybersecurity Essentials for Small Businesses, Dr. Jason Powell, professor at NSU

Sessions will be from 11:45 a.m.-1 p.m. 

“With NSU Means Business: Beyond the Brick Way, our goal is to meet people where they are and connect our communities with practical information, expertise and resources they can use, said Gwen Fontenot, director of Institutional Engagement and Economic Development. “By bringing these conversations to communities across our region, we are creating opportunities to build relationships, share knowledge and strengthen the connections between Northwestern State, businesses and the people we serve.”
