Natchitoches, LA — The Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, Mu Omega Zeta Chapter successfully launched its first-ever Miss Juneteenth Heritage Pageant, celebrating culture, confidence, leadership, and community pride in Natchitoches.
The pageant, held on May 30, 2026, highlighted the achievements of 17 remarkable young contestants across three age divisions. The newly crowned queens and their courts have since taken center stage in local Juneteenth celebrations, including the Natchitoches Juneteenth Parade, and were formally recognized at Natchitoches City Council meeting. U.S. Representative Cleo Fields honored the winners, continuing his strong support for community events that uplift youth and preserve heritage.
The Inaugural Queens Miss Juneteenth (Ages 13–17): Genesis Conday
Genesis earned additional recognition as Miss Congeniality, embodying grace and leadership.
Junior Miss Juneteenth (Ages 9–12): Zakiyya Hamilton
Zakiyya also received the Community Impact Award for her outstanding contributions.
Little Miss Juneteenth (Ages 5–8): Zaya Smith
Zaya captivated the audience with her poise and charm.
The event emphasized empowerment, representation, and service, with the queens and their courts actively participating in civic life and local festivities. Awards were presented by Signorah Thomas, and the Mu Omega Zeta Chapter extended congratulations to all contestants for their hard work and dedication. This inaugural pageant has set a strong foundation for future celebrations, kicking off a vibrant season of local pride and Juneteenth observances in Natchitoches.
