NRMC OB/GYN Associates and NRMC Active Medical Staff

NRMC is pleased to welcome Heather Jarrell Havener, MD, FACOS, MSCP, to its team of outstanding physicians and specialists. Dr. Havener joins Dr. Aviles, Dr. Mason, and Dr. Olatinwo at NRMC OB/GYN Associates.

Board-certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, Dr. Havener specializes in women’s health, including preventative and routine wellness care, prenatal care, high-risk pregnancy management, menopausal management, and minimally invasive surgical procedures. Passionate about gynecological care, she finds it extremely rewarding to educate young women about their reproductive health and to guide patients through perimenopause and menopause as a certified menopause practitioner by the Menopause Society.

A graduate of Negreet High School, Dr. Havener received her Bachelor of Science from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches before obtaining her medical degree from LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans. She completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas. Dr. Havener also served in the U.S. Navy Medical Corps as a Naval Medical Officer and physician. Following her military service, she practiced in the Dallas-Fort Worth area for over 12 years.

“I have always had an interest in women’s health and chose obstetrics and gynecology for its unique blend of medicine and surgery,” stated Dr. Havener. “It allows me to build lasting relationships with patients while also providing hands-on, procedural care when it is needed most. From guiding patients through routine care to stepping in during critical moments, I am able to combine thoughtful clinical decision-making with surgical skill to support women’s health at every stage of life. Returning to the Sabine area to provide this specialized care for the communities that helped shape me is truly meaningful, and I am honored to be a part of a trusted healthcare team dedicated to improving lives.”
