NATCHITOCHES, LA – The City of Natchitoches is proud to announce the launch of the Ask Natchitoches First movement, beginning Friday, October 3, 2025. This initiative is designed to encourage residents to support local businesses and strengthen the city’s economy by shopping local first.
In advance of the launch, the City will host a series of virtual meetings to provide business owners with the opportunity to learn more about the program, ask questions, and discover how they can participate. The meeting links have been mailed to all registered Natchitoches businesses. The meetings will take place on:
· Tuesday, September 30 at 6:00 PM
· Wednesday, October 1 at 6:00 PM
· Thursday, October 2 at 6:00 PM
“These sessions will allow business owners to see how the program works and how it can benefit them,” said Mayor Ronnie Williams, Jr. “Ask Natchitoches First is more than a campaign—it’s a movement to build pride in our community, keep dollars local, and highlight the outstanding businesses we already have here in Natchitoches.”
As part of the program, Ask Natchitoches First creates an online storefront for each participating business. Instead of rushing to national online stores that are not located in Natchitoches to buy products, residents can head to the Natchitoches marketplace to see what deals are available locally. This feature ensures that businesses in our community remain competitive and accessible while providing residents with the convenience of online shopping. Importantly, the initiative will also lead to real savings for shoppers in Natchitoches by connecting them directly to local deals and rewards.
