NATCHITOCHES – Northwestern State’s athletic department will set sail on the Cane River and Sibley Lake on July 11.

The annual football season ticket sign delivery is set to begin at 1 p.m. with department staff and select coaches boarding several boats to traverse the local bodies of water, placing NSU football season-ticket holder signs in the yards of those who would like to participate.

If you are a Demon football season-ticket holder and would like a yard sign placed in your yards along either the river or the lake, contact either Scott Maggio or Jason Pugh via email at maggios@nsula.edu or pughj@nsula.edu. Please be sure to include your address and any identifying information regarding your property.

The boat rides are a summer tradition that unofficially signals the start of the run-up to the Aug. 28 season opener against Alcorn State in Natchitoches.

In addition to the Thursday-night season opener, the Demons have home games against East Texas A&M (Oct. 4, Homecoming), Lamar (Oct. 25), UIW (Nov. 8) and Stephen F. Austin (Nov. 20).

Football season tickets are on sale now, and fans can either purchase tickets online at NSUTickets.com or in person at the ticket office, located inside the Donald G. Kelly Athletic Complex fieldhouse.
